The Mind-Body Connection: How Our Thoughts Affect Our Physical Health

in #lifelast year

One of the most important parts of any self improvement project is making sure your thoughts are aligned with your goals.

In my own personal experience, I discovered that if I was stressed out about something and focused on that thought instead of my goal, I would suffer health problems as a result. On the flip side, if I wasn't stressing out about something and I was feeling happy and relaxed, I didn't really suffer from any physical ailments.

I also noticed that this was a true pattern throughout the year. As the months went by, my physical health suffered when I was stressing over my goals, but once I started to focus on my goal instead, my mental state was much happier and healthier.

When it comes to health, your mind is literally more powerful than your body. So whatever you are worrying about has a bigger effect on your physical well-being than anything else.

To keep your body healthy, you need to create a positive mental attitude. Stress can cause everything from a bad mood to digestive issues to back pain. The point is that it's not about changing your physical environment, but instead it's about creating the mental environment to help you stay on top of your game.

I know that this seems like an obvious idea, but I've actually been guilty of letting stress creep into my life for years now. Once I started taking control of my mental state, I was amazed at how quickly my health improved.

It's not all bad news, though. Positive thinking can also help you lose weight and even stop smoking. So when you feel like your mind is out of control, the first thing you should do is realize it's not really a problem. You're just allowing your thoughts to dictate your actions and you need to change the way you think about things.

To keep your mind in a positive place, I recommend doing the following:

STEP 1: Make sure your thoughts are aligned with your goals

This is the easiest step. It's just a matter of realizing that your thoughts are your reality, so you want to think about them as positively as possible.

I recommend making a list of three good things about yourself before you start thinking about stressful situations.

STEP 2: Think about your actions before you do them

This step is about taking full responsibility for your actions. If you do what you feel like doing, then you won't ever truly change your thoughts.

I personally recommend getting out of bed and doing something productive rather than letting your thoughts push you around.

STEP 3: Remember, this is just a pattern

This is perhaps the most important part of changing your thoughts. In the beginning, you might feel like you need to try every day to keep yourself in a healthy mental state. However, you'll find that it takes a little bit of time for your brain to adjust.

As you move along in your self improvement journey, you'll start to notice that if you don't have the time to practice this every day, you can still reap the benefits.
