Was ich Euch heute zeige, ist nicht so ganz steemexclusive, daher an diesem Ort und nicht in einer Community meiner Wahl… Gleichlautend findet Ihr auf Facebook mein erstes Angebot, bei uns auf dem Hof Urlaub gegen Hand zu machen. In der entsprechenden Gruppe vom @greece-lover bin ich ja selber etliche Jahre unterwegs, allerdings vorwiegend auf der Gast-Seite. Seltene Host-Erfahrungen lassen mich auf eine erfreuliche Fortsetzung dieser anderen Konstellation hoffen. Wir fühlen uns jedenfalls bereit, die ersten Gäste zu empfangen!

Eigentlich soll dieses Angebot bis auf weiteres stehen bleiben; die Schwerpunkte unserer Projekte werden natürlich jeweils aktuell angepaßt.

Als Gastgeber finden wir uns ziemlich Klasse ;-)) Vielleicht mag sich ja der Eine oder Andere davon überzeugen kommen ;-)))

Juchu - wir sind endlich so weit, hier ein dauerhaftes Angebot einzustellen...: um welche Hilfen es geht, wie die Zeiträume und die jeweils gegebenen Bedingungen vor Ort aussehen, aktualisiere ich regelmäßig. Speichert Euch also gerne den Beitrag, wenn Ihr immer auf dem laufenden sein wollt! Ich schreibe generell lange Texte – das vermeidet Unklarheiten, wenn sie denn richtig gelesen werden. Den Gefallen könnt Ihr mir bitte tun ;-))

Zu uns: wir sind ein mittelaltes und semi-geselliges Paar, das vor zweieinhalb Jahren ein altes Objekt in Sachsen-Anhalt übernommen hat. Im vergangenen Jahr waren wir dann mit den Sanierungsarbeiten so weit durch, daß wir umziehen konnten (nie wieder Berlin! ;-))

Im Obergeschoß haben wir ein Gäste-Apartment eingerichtet. Es besteht vorerst aus Schlafzimmer und Wohnküche, ist für unsere Begriffe gemütlich und zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Das zugehörige Bad ist noch nicht fertig; nutzt also für‘s erste gerne ein Bad im unteren Bereich.

ACHTUNG: Das Schlafzimmer ist geräumig, gut ausgeleuchtet und belüftet, verfügt aber nicht über Tageslicht (innen liegend, kein Fenster) – wer darauf klaustrophobisch reagiert, sollte besser davon absehen… Außerdem ist die Treppe nach oben noch nicht saniert; sie ist schmal und steil mit hohen Stufen. Das sollte also ebenfalls kein Problem darstellen. Für Kleinkinder empfinde ich ausdrücklich sowohl Treppe als auch Hof als zu unsicher.

Es gibt ein Doppelbett und eine Schlafcouch. Platz für eine zusätzliche Matratze wäre noch drin...
Ein Kühlschrank wird von uns nach Euren Ernährungsgewohnheiten befüllt, alkoholfreie Getränke stellen wir natürlich auch bereit. Ihr habt damit die Möglichkeit, Euch selber zu versorgen, seid aber an unserem Tisch und in unserer Küche herzlich willkommen.

Es wird Gelegenheiten geben für gute Gespräche, ein Schachspiel, eine Runde Skat oder ein gemeinsames Glas Wein. Wir sind aber definitiv nicht auf Dauerbespaßung eingestellt. Bedient Euch gerne an den umfangreichen Bücherregalen und Musikinstrumenten. Was Ihr nämlich nicht finden werdet: TV-Geräte, nennenswerten Mobilfunkempfang oder Internet in ausreichender Bandbreite für Streaming oder Gaming. Was auch ganz sicher nicht geht: Rauchen im Haus. Draußen werde ich es zwar nicht verbieten, aber es ist für mich extrem Übelkeit erregend und ich möchte mich nicht über herumliegende Kippen ärgern müssen.

Die nächsten Monate habe ich einen Hund in Langzeitpflege – groß und gut ausgebildet, aber sehr territorial; ein anderer Hund würde momentan auf dem Grundstück massiv nicht akzeptiert. Außerdem gibt es etliche Streunerkatzen im Gelände und eine davon hat uns adoptiert ;-)) Tierhaarallergiker hätten vermutlich keine Freude hier.

Die Gegend besteht aus einer Menge Nichts. Flaches Land in ca. 50km Entfernung vom Harzvorland. Es gibt viel Ruhe, wenig besiedelte Natur, die Elbe, die Saale, Seen, eine Menge touristischer und historischer Sehenswürdigkeiten, die man am besten mit dem Auto erreicht. ÖPNV – mehrmals täglich fährt und kommt ein Schulbus (außer in Ferien und am Wochenende); darüber hinaus gibt es einen Rufbus, den man per App vorbestellen kann. Die Preise dafür sind moderat; wir laden Euch gerne zu der einen oder anderen Fahrt ein, falls Ihr nicht mobil seid. Abholung vom Bahnhof (Köthen, Bernburg oder Wulfen) wäre kein Problem, solange Ihr max. 2 Personen seid – wir haben nur einen Transporter, also nicht mehr Sitzplätze zur Verfügung.

Und nun zum Wesentlichen: unser derzeitiges Problem liegt in Form von amtlichen und 25 Jahre gewachsenen Bauschutt-Haufen in und um ein demnächst zu sanierendes Stallgebäude herum (ca. 12 Kubikmeter...) Diese müssen freigelegt, beräumt, sortiert und mehrheitlich entsorgt werden. Es geht also um körperlich anstrengende, aber ansonsten anspruchslose (meditative?) Arbeiten. Je nachdem, was wir so finden, wird ein Minibagger gemietet. Wir stellen Helme und Schnittschutzhandschuhe; derbe Kleidung und feste Schuhe bringt Ihr bitte selber mit. Arbeitszeit ergibt sich in Abhängigkeit von Euren Freizeitplänen – ich denke, mit durchschnittlich 3 Stunden am Tag sind wir völlig zufrieden.

Wir haben eine Bauherren-Haftpflichtversicherung und begrüßen es, wenn Ihr privat ebenfalls vorgesorgt habt.

Einen Zeithorizont gebe ich nicht vor; bei einigermaßen frühlingshaftem Wetter kann es losgehen. Ihr bleibt nach Belieben und dieses Angebot gilt, bis die angestrebte Baufreiheit am Stall herrscht.

What I am showing you today is not entirely steemexclusive, which is why I am posting it here and not in a Community of my choice... You will find my first offer to spend a working holiday in our home on Facebook. I have been a member of the corresponding @greece-lover group for several years, but mainly on the guest side. Rare host experiences give me hope for a pleasant continuation of this different constellation. In any case, we feel ready to welcome our first guests!

This offer is actually intended to remain in place until further notice; the focus of our projects will, of course, be adjusted as necessary.

We think we make pretty good hosts ;-)) Maybe one or two of you would like to come and see for yourselves ;-)))

Yay – we are finally ready to post a permanent offer here...: I will regularly update the type of help required, the time periods and the conditions on site. So feel free to save this post if you want to stay up to date! I generally write long texts – this avoids ambiguities, provided they are read correctly. Please do me this favour ;-))

About us: we are a middle-aged, semi-sociable couple who took over an old property in Saxony-Anhalt two and a half years ago. Last year, we finished the renovation work and were able to move in (never again Berlin! ;-))

We have furnished a guest apartment on the upper floor. For the time being, it consists of a bedroom and a kitchen-living room, which we consider to be cosy and functionally equipped. The bathroom is not yet finished, so for the time being, please feel free to use a bathroom on the lower floor.

PLEASE NOTE: The bedroom is spacious, well lit and ventilated, but has no natural light (it is located inside, with no windows) – if you suffer from claustrophobia, it is better to refrain from staying there... In addition, the staircase to the upper floor has not yet been renovated; it is narrow and steep with high steps. This should not be a problem either. I consider both the stairs and the courtyard to be unsafe for small children.

There is a double bed and a sofa bed. There is also space for an additional mattress...
We will stock the fridge according to your dietary requirements and will of course provide non-alcoholic drinks. This gives you the option of catering for yourselves, but you are also very welcome to join us at our table and in our kitchen.

There will be opportunities for good conversation, a game of chess, a round of skat or a glass of wine together. However, we are definitely not geared towards constant entertainment. Feel free to help yourselves to the extensive bookshelves and musical instruments. What you won't find: TV sets, significant mobile phone reception or internet with sufficient bandwidth for streaming or gaming. What is also definitely not allowed: smoking in the house. I won't ban it outside, but I find it extremely nauseating and I don't want to have to get annoyed about cigarette butts lying around.

For the next few months, I have a dog in long-term care – large and well-trained, but very territorial; another dog would be completely unacceptable on the property at the moment. There are also quite a few stray cats in the area, and one of them has adopted us ;-)) People with animal allergies would probably not enjoy it here.

The area consists of a lot of nothing. Flat land about 50 km away from the Harz foothills. There is a lot of peace and quiet, sparsely populated nature, the Elbe and Saale rivers, lakes, and a lot of tourist and historical sights that are best reached by car. Public transport – a school bus runs several times a day (except during holidays and on weekends); there is also an on-demand bus that can be pre-ordered via an app. The prices are reasonable; we are happy to invite you on a trip or two if you are not mobile. Pick-up from the train station (Köthen, Bernburg or Wulfen) would not be a problem as long as there are no more than two of you – we only have a transporter, so there are no more seats available.

And now to the essentials: our current problem lies in the form of official and 25-year-old piles of construction waste in and around a stable building that is soon to be renovated (approx. 12 cubic metres...). These must be uncovered, cleared away, sorted and, for the most part, disposed of. So it's physically demanding but otherwise uncomplicated (meditative?) work. Depending on what we find, we may hire a mini excavator. We provide helmets and cut-resistant gloves; please bring your own sturdy clothing and sturdy shoes. Working hours will depend on your free time plans– I think we'd be perfectly happy with an average of 3 hours a day.

We have builder's liability insurance and would appreciate it if you could bring your own.

I am not setting a time frame; as soon as the weather is reasonably spring-like, we can get started. You can stay as long as you like, and this offer is valid until the stable is ready for construction.
