RE: Creating a Better Life to Counter the Fall of Modern Society
Hi @diabolika! So, I quit my job (a while ago), quit day trading at the end of the year (for now). Then I was trying to sort out moving country (for tax reasons😀). But right now, I have absolutely nothing to do. Well, apart from drink tea (I’m still in the UK, after all😂). Anyway, so I really did need to check out steemit again and post a result to a lottery thing I posted two months ago😬But before facing that, I wanted to check out the person with the most interesting writing on steemit that I’ve come accross imho, I.e., your good self! ....And I just want to say CHEERS! Your posts are ‘stop what you are doing and wake up!’ awe-inspiring (if I may say so!)
Great to hear from you hey. Tax is absolutely making us all worry lol. Maybe I will move to another country if they close the exchanges or tax cryptos here haha.
Awww thanks for reading my content again!
It’s more difficult to escape the reach of ‘uncle sam’ than for residents of just about any other country I believe, though😱 I.e., for me to avoid most tax (but not ‘all’ ... I think inheritance tax is one that still applies) going foward, I pretty much just need to leave the uk and not visit for too many days per year. Similar for a lot of countries, I believe. But if you are a US citizen, as I understand it: all worldwide earnings are subject to tax wherever you are (although particular tax rates may be lower).
If only we could start buying stuff (on a big scale) with crypto (preferably, something like monero, and have absolutely no interaction with the legacy banking system), then well.....how would they ever find out :-p
True that. Great that I'm not a US citizen lol...but hey some countries are already closing the exchanges. I don't know who's next to follow Uncle Sam.
But yeah if only people just use cryptos with no interaction with the banks...But how will we convince everyone...
I hope you share your travels... 😊
Oh, lucky you then (from that point of view) ..... interesting I had a vague recollection that maybe weren’t but some reason thought it was still more likely heh
Yeah, haha....it would be a really awesome job to be a travel photographer. If one could produce stuff like this http://www.jillpaider.com/books/. Actually, I’m more interested in the architecture photo stuff. Would really like (possibly build) a super modern house in the coolest place
.... ah but wait, too bad that crypto is going down in flames 🔥 right now haha😭
Super Modern House would be super cool!
My current life depends on cryptos...what's your prediction about btc and sbd? Will you post more tech analysis again please 😪
Right now, i’ve got kinda got the feeling ‘We’re on Titanic,
Iceberg has been hit ... but for some reason (me included) we don’t yet realise the inevitable ending of the movie!!!😬’.
Of course, there’s the age old counter-view of ‘buy when there’s blood on streets’ (but is there enough blood yet, I’m not sure!). Or, that old chestnut: ‘be fearful when people are gready; be greedy when people are fearful’🙃
Basically, though, on the charts we’ve had some major ema cross-overs in the negative direction; and some major MACDs have got negative. If i had been using an automated trading system, I would have sold much more by now.
But, from history, there are still opportunities with cryptos coming out all the time (e.g., ‘nano’ right now seems to be hot, from all the chatter) (i have not bought any btw, just saying ;-) )
Longer term I have very high hopes for ethereum. I think this really could be the ‘the one crypto to rule them all!’😀
The question though for every ethereum holder right now is how long will it actually be until the switch to Proof-of-stake (what I think of as the ‘promised land!’😆).
So my question right now is whether I sell some eth now in the hope to buy back later at a lower price, or just ‘hodl’ it out!
My steem stake is pretty worrying also since now it’s unbalanced my portfolio (i.e., it’s now a very high percentage!), and as it’s locked I can’t sell quickly even if I wanted to. So, i think quite likely I may be just ‘let the chips fall where they will’ with this ones (either riches, or no riches haha..😬)
P.S. I like tired cliche/quotes (in case you hadn’t noticed)
[and just as well im not trying to be a writer]
🤣
PPS If i were to make a blog post i may unapologetically reuse some of the above tired cliches too (i like them, even if thousands would lol) 😂
I see you have high hopes for Ether long term.
Ahhh when will there be enough blood on the streets lol, that we don't know yet? The beauty of uncertainty lol.
I like your cliches, timely!
Thanks a lot!
