I touch, I feel and I learn [Exploring our brain]

in #life6 years ago

To learn about the environment, it is necessary for the valuable help of the largest organ of our body: the skin.
The skin extends throughout the body, and thanks to it you experience heat, cold, pain, softness, pressure, freshness, as it is full of nerve endings that determine learning.

When one person touches another, the production of hormones in the brain increases and the nervous system is activated, that is why when a child does not receive caresses, in his adult life he will show those deprivations having difficulties to be touched, to caress and he will possibly suffer from these deficiencies through different types of psychological games.

Example of this when we find people who have intolerance to be touched, not that they are bad people, they are simply dragging deficiencies that are probably from childhood and when they reach adulthood do not know how to react, one of the easiest mechanisms is to create barriers.

The psychological games are within the theory of transactional analysis of Berne, they represent a dysfunctional way of communicating, expressing feelings or needs of attention, always in a negative way.

The contact then is fundamental for the development of the individual, immediately after the birth stimulates the growth of the sensory endings of the body engaged in the motive movements, in the spatial orientation and in the visual perception; When this activation does not occur, muscle movements will be deficient and distorted in learning. Learning to touch people in a respectful way is crucial for the development of personality and for learning.

Being babies we explore and we know part of the world with our mouths and hands, increasing the efficiency of our learning, we have continued to know and learn about our world by touching and feeling, we learned about the bark of trees by passing our hands over them, about temperatures Sensing the cold or the heat, we learned of the pain by tripping over objects and over some edges of love feeling caresses of affection. Let us now take advantage of the enormous potential of our touch and combine it with other senses so that a much larger area of the brain is activated and we can thus form a greater number of neural networks that allow a more integral learning.

In short, it is necessary to touch, feel, feel, have contact with the outside to learn about its characteristics and if it is necessary to adapt to them; It is also important to have contact with others, to caress with respect, delicacy and tenderness, to also learn that in human relationships it is not enough to see and listen, it is also necessary to feel.
