RE: The Surprising Origin Of Monopoly
This is fascinating – truly!
I never really enjoyed Monopoly. No matter what I did, I just didn't have the right mindset to get there first. So I always ended up feeling shafted – unable to even imagine winning.
Perhaps I'm just not built to excel at such a lopsided game. Maybe that's a good thing. ;)
I was never good at the game also :-) But it's interesting that Magie's game originally came with not one, but two rule-sets: you could play as the capitalist, the game we all know now, but there were also rules where the objective was the opposite; to make sure no one got bankrupt... I can not even begin to imagine how that would work, which maybe is a sign...
That sounds so much more...civil. How sad is it that such a thing is hard to imagine?
