Being debt free is certainly a great goal to have , unfortunately for the vast majority of people they get caught up and find it very hard to escape debt. But as a tax payer I suppose we are all paying interest due to national debts that are governments imposes on us I maybe wrong but I don’t think governments will ever allow us to be debt free why would they when the can get the many paying interest to the few .
