Knowing how to listen is essential for effective communication. However, few people really listen and understand its meaning. When there is a lack of good listening, this can cause problems that affect dealing with other people.
Many times, we do not know the importance of knowing how to listen and how this skill can benefit us. But we do need and want others to listen to us, it is at this point that we become selfish, for wanting to be listened to, but we do not make an effort to listen to others.
Hearing and listening are very different things, during the day we can hear many things, that is, when we hear, we really do not do it carefully, we only capture the different sounds that surround us. But when we listen, the attention is only towards that sound or any other message that is being transmitted to us. That is why when we know how to listen to others, a bond is created between both parties. In other words, when we don't care about another person's conversation, we don't listen to it, but we do hear it.In the end we don't understand it, we don't understand it.

Aunque no parezca, escuchar es un arte que la mayoría de las personas no dominan.
El saber escuchar es un asunto primordial para que una comunicación sea efectiva. Sin embargo, son pocas las personas que escuchan de verdad y entienden su significado. Cuando existe la ausencia de una buena escucha, esto puede provocar problemas que afecta el trato con las demás personas.
Muchas veces, no sabemos la importancia de saber escuchar y de cómo esta habilidad nos puede beneficiar. Pero sí necesitamos y deseamos que los demás nos escuchen, es en este punto, en que nos volvemos egoístas, por desear que nos escuchen, pero no nos esforzamos en escuchar a los demás.
Oír y escuchar son cosas muy distintas, durante el día podemos oír muchas cosas, es decir, cuando oímos, realmente no lo hacemos con esmero, solamente captamos los diferentes sonidos que nos rodean. Pero cuando escuchamos, la atención es solamente hacia ese sonido o cualquier otro mensaje que nos estén transmitiendo. Es por eso que cuando sabemos escuchar a los demás, se crea un vínculo entre ambas partes. Dicho en otras palabras, cuando no nos importa la conversación de otra personas, no lo escuchamos, pero si lo oímos. A la final no lo entendemos, no lo comprendemos.
Saber escuchar, se puede decir que es difícil, ya que tenemos que dominarnos para tener atención y comprensión, y de esta manera poder captar lo que la otra persona nos quiere decir.
Cuando hablamos con alguien no podemos decir a esa persona algo que le resulte valioso si no escuchamos lo que nos dice, si lo hacemos y la escuchamos, esa persona se sentirá agradecida y también se creara un ambiente de respeto.
Para que toda comunicación sea positiva, tenemos que tener empatía, es decir, tener la capacidad de ponernos en el lugar de los demás, para escucharlos y comprenderlos. En conclusión, tenemos que poner en práctica esta habilidad de saber escuchar, ya que en la sociedad en que vivimos, existen muchas personas con la necesidad que la escuchen. Así que no subestimemos esta poderosa herramienta que tenemos como lo es la capacidad de escuchar. Desde ya pongámosla en práctica!
