SSH fingerprint to your know_hosts

in #linux6 years ago

This time happened to me.

I typed 3 times the wrong password in my VPS and each time I was trying to connect I was getting this error:

ssh fingertrip.png.

I have to tell ssh to rescan the fingerprint for that IP:

ssh-keyscan -H 192.168.1.162 >> ~/.ssh/known_hosts

ssh fingerprint.png

And happily let me connect once again to my VPS.

Also this solution could work when you have a script that scans all of your Linux servers, and when run the script stoyps because the server asks for SSH key fingerprint need to be added to the know_hosts file and you have to type yes, with the previous command your script could work without problem.

ssh fingerprint1.png
