Sort:

Pine needles softly crunch underfoot
Ravens hop around trying to find food.
A soft moon mellows the trenchant edges of society,
Tender light leads my way as I stretch out from under the pine trees;
I need to see the beauty of silence.
The night is dark with no profane lights desecrating the view
I sit in the road, arms around my knees as my face curiously reaches upward
Stars dance silently across the cool, crisp night sky.
Sharp trees cut upwards as if to assert their dominance upon the heavens but
Sky embraces the trees,
And the two are melding together in an ombre array.
There is no conflict, only the harmony of nature.
There are no austere corners or jarring colors,
No signs of meretricious humanity.
Anybody can see the sky but not like this,
Raw and Unscathed.
Tears of awe stream down my face,
And I think to myself… what a wonderful world.
