The Miraculous Lock

I am the owner of a big company which has been developing for the last five years and I believe that it has reached its peak. It is a trading company and I am very proud of it since my father and I founded it together and the fact that we have succeeded means a lot to both of us.

However, an important aspect of leading a business is also securing your property and important facilities and areas. We are aware of that and we have put a lot of effort into providing top level security for our company.

Anyway, last month something happened that almost proved our effort useless. In fact, there has been an attack where someone tried to enter the company’s property during the night and probably see if there is any money to be taken away since he tried to break into the finance department.

He managed to the department, but luckily he was prevented from breaking in and this is how the story goes.

Our surveillance system is such that barely anyone can step onto the company’s grounds without some of the cameras recording it.

Nevertheless, our trespasser was so skillful that he managed to hack the system or at least do something with the cameras and disable them.

Thus, he was able to freely walk around the company. However, we also have the night security guards, but the attacker was probably quiet enough so as not to attract their attention. Anyway, he managed to the finance department, but what he did not know was that the lock on each of the departments required extreme Locksmith skills and also a special set of tools. It was one of those “unpickable” locks.

Thus, when he realized that he would need hours to defeat the lock, the smart guy used force to break it and that was when one of the night guards heard some noise and went to check what it was. Luckily for him, he was smart enough to start running away the minute he realized it was too loud so the guard did not catch him.

The next morning, I came to work I could not believe what they were telling me. I wanted to see the camera records, but I was met with another shock finding out that there was nothing on the video tapes. Of course, we called the police, and they were able to extract some evidence from where the lock was broken, and now they are in search of the intruder.

All in all had there not been for the “unpickable” lock, the attacker would probably have made it through the finance department door as well and he would have stolen the important documents as well as the money meant for the salaries of our workers.

Luckily, all ended well, but I still cannot believe that he shut down the surveillance system and was stopped by a lock. I can easily say that the wondrous lock is what saved the company.
