The Girl In The Window

in #love7 years ago

I'm the girl in the window, staring back at you,
eyes full of wonder and love, innocent and true.
I've been with you all along
and with you is where I belong.

Gazing through the pane to beauty on the other side,
taking in her own brown windows through glass just inches wide.
A smile and a summons, a call to come out and play,
sweet paper wrapped gifts and tender kiss that brought blue sky from the grey.

A desire to marry, a warmth stirred deep within,
enraptured with longings, but all others saw was a sin.
mine for but mere moments, but seemed an eternity,
then she was gone, taken far away from me.

Once again you had me, beneath the sheets of your room,
strands entangled and empty holes collide quenching the fire of flowers in bloom,
lust ignited from wet wicks of combustion,
hidden from those who spurned such seduction.

But seduce we both did, as flames rose higher,
engaging in other at every chance and exploding into a ball of fire.
This is what we lived for, the moment and euphoria,
the climax and the afterglow, are the memories of the fleeting phantasmagoria.

Later, I'd appear again, driven with goals of grandeur and fame,
confidants and lovers, but the music and the highs took their toll,
walking away for the latest fix in a most vulnerable moment,
lost in those brown eyes, with no hope of redemption, reconcilement or atonement.

A carnival of infatuation awaited us one night,
high atop a ferris wheel with the moon and stars so bright,
a kiss of desire mingled with popcorn and lemonade,
the sweetest kiss in all the world that ever could be made.

Finally, through a hand of fate, a trifecta of romantic illusions,
colliding over and over and over again, till the mesh of love left no delusions.
Souls found their mates, driven together through dire straights
Scorpio and Aquarius fused together with hearts that appreciate.

So here they stand, on the edge of something infinite,
the finite face the eternal glory, pursuing each other's intimate.
Adoring and supporting, smiling and crying,
sharing the joys that surround them and eradicating that which was dying.

Eyes gaze in wonder, as a new celebration begins,
one that began so many years ago, when they were only friends.
Still, I'm the girl in the window, I've been here all along
and with you right now in this moment, is exactly where I belong.
