My Blessing

in #lovelast month

Yesterday was Mom's birthday, and she is now 81 years old. Lately her health has not been keeping very well and that really bothers me and my sister. As she gets older and older, this thought keeps bothering me, what will life be without her. I do not want to think it that way, but then that's the reality of life, and with her health conditions it really stresses me out at times. I want to take her to so many places still but now given her health conditions, she is not advised to travel much. She loves to visit at my Muscat home, but last time she travelled after that she was very ill for a long time, and after that the Dr. advised her not to travel long distances.

Right now she is with my sister in another city, so yesterday I sent her flowers and a cake. Almost every day we talk on phone, there is nothing much to converse, we just talk about our daily affairs. She likes it when I call her. She has nothing much to do now, so talking to her keeps her mind occupied. In December I will go and visit her for few days, she is already looking forward to it and me too. I want to bring her to Mumbai for few days, I will see how her health condition is that time and then take a call to bring her to my place for few days.

Yesterday she was very happy with the cakes and flowers that I sent for her, and my sister did a small celebration for her by preparing her favorite food. It really sparked her face and watching her happy filled me also with lots of happiness.

@nainaztengra, this post is truly heartwarming and resonates deeply! The love and care you have for your mom shine through every word. It's beautiful how you prioritize connecting with her, even through simple daily calls. The photos of the flowers and cake, and especially the one of your "sweet old lady," are so precious and capture the joy you brought to her special day.

It's understandable to feel anxious about her health, and your desire to create more happy memories with her is admirable. I hope you get to visit her in December and perhaps even bring her to Mumbai, if her health allows. Posts like these remind us to cherish our loved ones and make the most of every moment. Thank you for sharing this touching glimpse into your life! I'm sure many others can relate. What is your fondest memory of your mother? I would love to know!
