A Cycle of Love hurt

in #love7 years ago

Love indeed is beautiful but it seldom comes with no cost.

We often want to feel love, love and be loved; and the urge to give love our all can be very intense.

Thanks to this👆 picture from a buddy I follow on Instagram. It brought back some memories and prompted me to write this piece.

Now let's go on;

Take a Pause from the pleasurable feeling of a loving relationship and give a thought to the awkward moments of unreciprocated, non-mutual feelings of love you have or had towards a cherished Jewel.

These people are special to us. She is beautiful he’d say; I’m in love with him she’d say.

We think about them, dream of them and fill our fantasies with their admirable figures. But each time we show our love and profess it, their responses go cold.

They set up unseen barriers, treat us without admiration, shun our kindness and shut out our advances.
They leave us hurt and in pain while we wish and hope they’d realise how much we love, care and admire them.

It then seems as though there’s nothing we can do to make them love us. Day after day we wait, we hope but they never seem to care that we love them. Our love is met with ungratefulness, extreme cold and hot tempers. They’d rather hurt us for our love and kindness because they care not about us.

There always dawns a time when we realise they’d not intend to care about our love; that our love would not be mutual and our most cherished treasure might never move close to listen to the rhythm of our love. It’s about that time we ask this pertinent question,
Why would those we love not love us back? Why would they hurt us when we helplessly express our love?

We search for answers to no end. Nothing we think makes sense.

It begins to look like a cycle. For those we love don’t love us back and those who love us, we don’t love back.

We stay resolute to go after those we love, with an interest to win their hearts. And those who love us too, do same and we shun them in haste.

The heart is distraught. If those we love won’t love us in return, why can’t we love those who love us?

Love is interesting and complicated, and we all want the best from love. That is, to love and be loved by those who love us.
