Self-love in a nutshell!!

The bible tells us (Matthew 19.19):
"Love your neighbor as yourself"

This small but earth-shattering sentence contains so much wisdom and provides solutions for many of our problems.

But what does that mean?
Treat others as you treat yourself!
Think about every other person as you think about yourself!
Support every other person as you support yourself!
Treat yourself as you want to be treated by others!
Be the best friend for others and yourself!
...
No matter which side bears more weight, if the scales are not even, they are not in divine order.

Example:

1. If you always sacrifice for yourself others but forget about your own self.
   

2. If you always think about yourself but don’t care about others.
   

Is it allowed to love oneself?

Yes!!! As much as we love another person! I would even say: "YES, WE SHOULD!!!"
Why?
Many people always try to please others and forget about themselves. As soon as someone else does the same with them, they feel hurt or disappointed.
How can someone who forgets about himself expect others not to do so?
How can someone who does not love himself expect others to do so?

If you love yourself you don’t depend on another person’s love. Being independent, you can chose out of love and not out of dependence and a feeling of lack.
Is it possible that a person who reacts out of dependence and lack makes other decisions than someone who reacts out of love? How would the world be if every person you met was able to live in self-love and thus love to others?
You can only change the world by changing yourself!

Implementing self-love in your life

This exercise is really easy:
Every time you have to make a decision, give yourself the same advice you would give your best friend – a friend you love, for whose health, development and wellbeing you care.
Be your own best friend, who motivates you for ideas or target or sometimes even says: “You don’t need this. This won’t be good for you.”

Practice shows that it is really important to write down this friendly advice. This allows you to check how well you can follow this advice given by love.
