..."Sei passed away 7 months ago, I was there at the funeral with Agnes your aunt",my mother shouted, "and it is on a Sunday so I am not in the mood Willie. The day you will decide to come home don't even call,just show up on my door!,"it is at this moment that I turned to face Sei...Silence..."ok mom,end month I promise". She hanged on me. I stood there staring at my man. Two confusion states,my mother being mad at me,and the hint that I could be staring at s ghost. You see I was raised a staunch believer, superstitions were taken with a pinch of salt in our family but hey,still I come from ukambani where such eerie occurrences were reported. I wasn't a believer of such shit. I am& still am very sceptical of things supernatural... "I can see you are awake,"I put it. "Wah, tukatoe lock manze," Sei opined. I really needed to get high, for real. Every one could have! I could not see any signs of a ghost from my man, not that I knew of one but let's face it, any body can attest of anything super human-ghost like. He looked fine according to me. But men... I noticed I was now shaken. We moved out,seen people,cars buildings&all that gave me some courage. We walked in some strange silence. I decided to man up. "Unaendeleaje bana uko poa kutoka tumeet?", Sei in a detailed manner told me how he went to kilifi,got hired by an Arab and he was now heading to their branch in Isiolo to pick up some things. He had decided to spend the second day ahead of his travel on the following Monday. Nothing was unusual with him-so far...we arrived at the liquor shop. He ordered a top secret.Every thing seemed normal. Half way down the bottle we were laughing & talking of how times were while working for us. He even reminded me of how I used to help him sneak,use some of our stuff&some other kiddish things you know... Or this guy has come from the dead to thank me! I thought. I ought to ask him now,I felt bold enough to do so...
