She is not a virgin, so what?

I was watching a particular station yesterday in my sitting room with a glass of water in my hand and a plate of fufu with oha soup sitting in front me when I heard a man saying “ladies you should make sure you remain a virgin till your wedding night because even though the man has slept with several women, he will still like to marry a virgin and it will make him trust you and love you more” as I heard those words I got so angry and I felt like giving that man a piece of my mind…. I could not even finish my food anymore but thank goodness I had eaten the food half way. Seriously, someone should tell this man that we don’t give a hoot about that kind of stupid love or trust. I am going to keep or lose my virginity because I want to and not because I am seeking for the validation of a man who does not even deserve it.
Why will a woman be encouraged to keep her virginity until the day of her slaughter which we call the ‘wedding night’ and the men are not taught to do the same? It is high time we understood that what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. A woman should never be judged or shame slut for not having that tiny membrane that covers the vagina. The hymen does not define a woman. How can a woman be Intelligent, be at the top of her career, has good manners, and what have you and someone comes up to spit nonsense about her not being a wife material just because the hymen is broken. Are you a husband material yourself? Whatever that means? Lol. I don’t need to remind anyone that having a hymen does not automatically make anyone a wife material. There are other factors that should be put in check but I am going to leave that topic for another day.

Need I say that the hymen can be broken from other activities other than sex e.g. sports. Some even lose theirs through rape and yet these people are judged daily by the society. I think the society should start teaching the men self-discipline and how to use their brain to think rather than their dicks. In today’s world, the advice on relationship and how to keep the home is targeted to the women. Not enough teachings are given to the men, that is why we have lots of indiscipline males. Unfortunately it is the women that will have to put up with these reckless behaviors of theirs just because they are females.
Because you are a woman the society expects you to endure the recklessness of your man silently in pain. If you dare speak out and the relationship fails, it is your entire fault. It is your responsibility to keep your home and pamper your man as a baby because you are a robot and have no feelings and he in turn is expected to do nothing after all he is a man…. These are exactly what lots of women are going through right now but are afraid or ashamed to speak out.

Dear women, do not let the society dictate to you how you should lead your life. Your hymen does not define you. Set a standard for yourself. Do not accept less than you deserve. Don’t die in pains… speak out and you will be heard. You also deserve to be happy. YES YOU DO.
