Is trust more important than love?

In any relationship, we are always faced with these questions: do you love me, do you trust me, do you even understand me? Depending on who is feeling insecure, these questions are asked by males and females.

Whichever way you look at it, they are questions of doubts. A party is already feeling cheated on or insecure. 

As a guy, i have been faced with these questions and i have also asked them at one point or the other. Sometimes in a relationship, you just have this unexplainable feeling for your spouse that you start acting weird. 

The people asking these questions always look insecure while those we ask see themselves as demi-god and especially when the 'love' is not truly there.

I have read so many articles that suggest trust is more important in a relationship. Some of these articles opted also for understanding instead of love. In any case, none of the writers is truly an expert because relationship is one of the mysteries we are yet to solve.

Which is more important between trust and love? 

Trust is an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. Source. When you trust someone, you will have 'zero level' of doubt for that person. No single doubt is entertained by you because you have blocked everything that could trigger it.

Love on the other hand is an unexplainable feelings of affection and intimacy for someone.

Sometimes, you need to trust someone before you can fully and truly love the person. In another instance, you need to love the person first and then trust the person later. In any case, the two are important.

The question now is which one between the two is more important. Like i rightly noted above, many believe trust is more important. For these people they believe that no matter how you love your spouse, if you do not trust him/her then the relationship will collapse.

For them, you must not entertain doubt within you. You must always trust your woman or man. But i think they are forgetting that without love, trust is useless.

Love and trust work hand-in-hand and to always trust your spouse you need to love him/her.  I will say love is more important. Trust needs love as its foundation to be meaningful. 

To say trust is more important is to 'kill' love in that relationship and when love is gone, the relationship itself is gone.

For me, the two are very important but love should be given priority over and above trust in a relationship.
