It described the concept of a decentralized digital currency and its security features. The paper was published under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto, who is still unknown. There were several reactions to the white paper upon its release.
The main concern of many people at that time was how they could acquire bitcoins. Many believed that only criminals would want such a thing, but others thought it could be used by ordinary people as well.
The second reaction was regarding the bitcoin's security features. Some people claimed that it would never work and would fail in the future, while others believed it could work just fine. However, no one knew for sure what would happen when using this new technology.
Many people believed that bitcoins were not an actual currency since they did not have any value yet and therefore required some kind of backing before they could be accepted by users around the globe. Others disagreed with this view and argued that bitcoins were actually valuable because they had no government backing or control over their circulation rate (Currency).
