Machine Learning Books - Gitbook [Free Collection]

If you're a developer and you're familiar with github, you've probably also heard of GitBook, a place to to share documentation and digital publications. Many developers have published books exclusively on GitBook. Some might have even received contracts from conventional publishers to take their creations into the physical world.
They started GitBook in 2014 and grew enormously ever since. Currently they serve more than 150,000 books to 20 million visitors each month.
They have been original into building an open source format for the books at GitBook:
"The philosophy is to be simple to the point of elegance, removing distractions and concerns from content creators, so that they can write freely." [source]
Today I'm going to suggest visiting the section tagged 'machine learning' at GitBook, which currently shows a couple of dozens of books in this field. Obviously, you can quickly jump in and start studying from these books directly in your browser.
The most popular in the section is a machine learning cookbook, while the second most popular is a hands-on book on ML and big data.
I warmly recommend going through this ML and Big Data book, which was written by Kareem Alkaseer, because it goes through 4 programming frameworks: Scala, C++, Java, and Python.
Of course, you are not limited to machine learning. Other topics at GitBook include:
- JS and Web Development
- Python
- Linux
- Node.js
- Android Development
- General Programming
- Academic Writing
- Bioinformatics
- and more.
If you're just starting out as a programmer, I'd suggest you go about learning Python, as it's one of the hottest programming languages currently, with large applicability in many sectors. Anyway, you can browse through the entire offering of machine learning books at GitBook below:
