Afternoon visit from the woodpecker

This beautiful wood pecker, just turned up at his nest for some spring cleaning. He is always keeping a constant look out for preditors while he works.

These were taken using my Canon PowerShot SX60 HS

Thanks for the detailed photos @sallybeth23. There is a woodpecker staying busy near my home, but I can never find him! They are really fascinating hard workers, glad you caught one at work in these photos!

Thanks very much, I love woodpeckers. I actually recognise their bird song when they come by these days rather than the tapping of trees that they do during nest building.

Those are some terrific shots, my friend! I love that first one where you got that zoom up on his stripe. He really came alive for you as you scroll through.

I think I was born lucky ..... I am naturally happy by my nature even having suffered stuff that would finish some types off I am alive and well and filled with love for humanity and working on my spiritual development consciously, daily.
