The #plane, which took off from Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur to China's capital Beijing on March 8, 2014, disappeared 40 minutes after taking off.

Despite the most expensive underwater survey in history, it has not been determined why the plane carrying 239 people changed direction and flew south into the Indian Ocean and what happened to the plane afterwards.

In the event, which has turned into one of the biggest mysteries in aviation history, the authorities have not even come close to the result after 8 years.

The #British #Guardian newspaper compiled the allegations and theories about the plane.

💥North landing theory

According to the theory developed immediately after the event, the plane may have landed in Central Asia, not south of the ocean.

This theory is based on tracking using military radars after exiting the civilian flight tracking system.

Accordingly, #MH370 changed direction to the southwest after 40 minutes while flying from Kuala Lumpur to the northeast towards Beijing. After a while it turned northwest towards India. Afterwards, it also left the field of military radar.

However, Inmarsat refuted this theory based on its own satellite data.

In 2015, parts of the plane were found off the coast of Africa.

💥Claims to have "fell west of Australia"

In 2015, some confirmed fragments of MH370, were found off the east coast of Africa.

Thereupon, the theory was put forward that the plane may have crashed in the south of the Indian Ocean, close to the western coast of Australia, and that within a year, its remains reached the African coasts with ocean currents.

According to satellite data, the plane was last seen in the southeast and could not have crashed off the coast of Africa.

The researchers said that there may have been a malfunction, fire or a minor accident on the plane, and that it was possible for the plane to change its route in order to make an emergency landing for this reason.

According to this theory, there was a loss of oxygen on the plane, and both the passengers and the pilots lost consciousness before the plane could land. The plane, which was flying over the Indian Ocean for a while on autopilot, crashed when it ran out of fuel.

The Malaysian government and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (AUGB) still officially accept this oxygen loss theory today.

💥Intentionally dropped?

In 2016, American researchers and the AUGB found a personal flight simulator in the home of the plane's pilot, Zaharie Ahmed Shah.

In the simulator at the pilot's house, a flight was sketched to the south of the Indian Ocean.

This was the route MH370 was thought to have taken after it disappeared.

However, the AUGB said this does not substantiate Zaharie's claim that he deliberately shot down the plane, rejecting the theory of a planned plane crash.

The Malaysian government also adhered to the theory that Zaharie lost consciousness as the plane crashed, and that she was one of the victims.

To date, no evidence has been found that the plane could have been deliberately shot down by the pilot.

💥Dropped in 'priority zone'

The AUGB released its largest report on the subject in 2017.

The investigations of the Australian government agency in an area of 120,000 square kilometers since 2014 led to the emergence of two different theories.

The first was the same theory that the pilot had lost consciousness. New evidence was also found to support this theory: The plane had landed on the water at high and increasing speed, so it was under no one's control.

According to the second theory, MH370 crashed in what they call a "priority area" just north of the survey site.

This priority area had not been explored. A call was made to researchers who would step in later to explore this region.

💥'The pilot was conscious and made a controlled landing'

In 2018, the US company Ocean Infinity examined the "priority zone" of 25 thousand square kilometers with the suggestion of Australia. However, no results were obtained.

The priority zone theory is that the pilot lost consciousness; It was based on the knowledge that the plane ran out of fuel in that area and crashed.

When the wreckage of the plane could not be found there, it was claimed that the pilot was conscious while the fuel was running out and he launched the plane in a controlled manner in another region.

Because the plane, which is lowered in a controlled way, can go another 200 kilometers; The research may have been inconclusive for this reason.

However, the AUGB denied this claim. According to them, it had been proven before that the plane crashed rapidly and uncontrollably.

💥The result is still not approached

. At the end of 5 years, even though an area of 200 thousand square kilometers was investigated, there was still no evidence of what happened to the plane.

The Malaysian government says its 2018 report, which offers no new evidence or information, is the "last report" due to lack of information.

The Air Transport Gendarmerie, subordinate to the French police, announced in 2018 that it launched an investigation into how the satellite data was obtained. The investigation continues.

In 2019, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Luke said that he could restart research only if a good offer comes in. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic, no steps were taken regarding the plane.

At the end of the 8 years that have passed, nothing but a few parts allegedly belonging to the plane have been found.
