Manchester United's New Number 10

Sunday night Manchester United faced the mighty Bayern Munich in crucial pre-season match. What makes the match so crucial is that Man United are missing a significant number of key players for the start of the season on the 10th of August 2018. So the team fielded needed to prove they are ready for the opening match.

Key players missing include: Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaka, Jesse Lindgard and Nemanje Matic.

Valencia and Matic are out injured. The rest of the players are still resting from the World Cup.

Manchester United fielded the strongest team possible under the circumstances but still managed to compete against Bayern Munich. Even though the intensity of a competitive match coild not be felt there was a lot of positives to take from the match.

Midfield duo Fred and Pereira were solid and pragmatic. Sanchez seems to be discovering his form again.

One surprise that everyone got from the match however was seeing that Marcus Rashford has been given the iconic number 10 shirt.

Manchester United's number 10 shirt was previously donned by the likes of David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mark Hughes, Teddy Sheringham, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney.
