"SLC26-W5 | Alfajores"
Greetings teacher's and students!
I warmly welcome you all to the week 5 of steemit learning challenge season 26 it's a pleasure to participate in this course and am delighted to present my practical and theory part of this week assignment.
1 - Make your own Alfajores, they can be filled or unfilled (include ingredients, quantities and step by step instructions)
Ingredients | measurements |
---|---|
Cornstarch | 30grams |
All purpose flour | 50 grams |
Butter | 20 grams |
Sugar | 3 teaspoon |
Ground cinnamon | 1 teaspoon |
Egg | 1 |
Started with whisking my butter and sugar for a while then go in with the egg and whisked till it becomes watery I set that aside.
After I had finished whisking the batter, egg and sugar in a bowl I mixed up the dried ingredients, poured in the cornstarch, flour, ground cinnamon and vanilla essence together mixed it up .
I seaved the flour into the batter mixture and form a dough, rolled it up in a nylon bag to achieve a smoother texture then I let it rest in the fridge for an hour.
After an hour i brought it out use a glass to achieve this round shape then I baked them for 20 minutes after which my alfajores was ready.
final results with a name, tag and date
When you tried the alfajores, what was your experience like? Did you like them? Explain your answer in detail.
I love them so mush, the taste was heavenly it wasn't so soft also not so hard it was just perfect for each bite it has a bit of crunch feeling, I ate each bite with so nush joy as my first trial turned out so great, to be honest although I wanted a good result i was also not expecting it to turn out so great.
3 - What has been your favorite hands-on challenge?
For the past 4 weeks I happily participated even when some practical seem impossible for me because were i reside some ingredients are so hard to find and also a nursing mum who has other business to handle in one way or the other I always find a way not to miss out this wonderful opportunity, this class will help me make different dough at home which is cost effective, measure accurate quantity of ingredients.
In all the 5 weeks of learning all the dough I made was unique in their own taste I love them differently but because I hade to choose I will say I loved churros the most,
it was soft flavorful pairing with sauce made it a wonderful experience.
Am calling out to my 3 amazing friend @beevicsam @affy @chant to participate as well
Thanks for inviting me in, really like to participate
You are welcome.
