Growing Weed - Grow 1 - Week Three Day Three #2

in #marijuana7 years ago

Here they are topped and in air pots. The little guy on the top left is a week immature (its a clone the rest are feminized seeds). They are starting to branch out nicely.. in a week you probably wont be able to see the flood table below.. 4 weeks from now they will look like giant bushes with an even canopy... I may do a second top next week depending how well these recover.. it will add another week but will increase the kola count per plant to 4.. Normally I have 9 plants going - so the second top (if the plants can take it) will more than compensate for the cost of a week.. I have the tops rooting in an aeroponic system.. they are all the same strain - the clone was from a mother that was dying - one of these plants will be the new mother.. I think the bottom right has the best looking growth - not too aggressive or wimpy... the middle right plant looks like a bulky plant so that may be a candidate as well - wont know until flower!

A SUBJECT NEAR AND DEAR TO ME HEART

Yes, please tell us all about your lights? ;-)

The lights are LED obviously.. its in a 4x4 area so I have 2 600w LEDs that replaced a 1000w for the same area. I have a number of LEDs - there are two different manufacturers in that tent - I believe one may be 10w epistar chips and the other 5w (ive had to replace a few over the years). LED is great - takes little power and produces a similar amount of lumens. It doesnt travel all the way to the bottom canopy as well HPS - but it also does not come with the heat issues/changing bulbs/fire hazard. I used them in one setup before commiting to them. I believe ripening takes about a week longer - other people think its faster. All I know is the end result is better looking than an HPS with less power being consumed - any further claims are speculative!

Hi.What led you using?

I have a number of them.. most of them are 600w with 10w epistar chips.. they come from a number of manufacturers.. If you are looking to buy one I would buy "up" about 20%. For example - the space this grow is in used to have a 1000w HPS - now it has 2 600w leds (total of 1200w). Its a lot harder to burn your plants with LED so the extra power has its advantages!
