Market Friday - Lock Down Style
Still Under Lockdown
Here in Michigan the Governor extended the lock down until the middle of May. So, Market Friday posts will be a bit on the lame side for me anyways. You know we keep it real and keep it fresh! Of course a big shout out to the Queen of Market Friday @dswigle for making it such a cool contest week after week. We all appreciate all the work she puts in to it!
Now I have been known to don my mask and gloves and hit the market. However the past few weeks I have been taking it easy and letting the good folks at Kroger do the shopping for me.
Right now the way it works is I place my online order a week before I want to pick it up. Now I can add or delete items in the meantime. Then I simply drive to the store, park in the pick up spot and let them know I am there. They give you an hour window to pick up your stuff. There is no waiting and it has been very quick and convenient the two times I have done it so far.
Now I often order groceries online and have them shipped. Buuuuutttttt that does not always work out so well.
Seems lately Amazon has been doing the best with packing followed by Walmart. Of course damage to the box is not the fault of Target...
However I will say that Target is very decent about making any problems right with their customer service.
Now this is a good example of how liquids should be packed and not just tossed in a box!
Have a great weekend!!!

Safeway just started their order-to-go thing here in town about a week before the whole Corona thing went large scale... their program pretty much got "tested under fire." I haven't actually used it yet... I just suit up and head into the store, once a week. I think that has really been the biggest change for us — learning to plan ahead, for the grocery shopping.
Odd to think that my mom only grocery shopped once a week, when I was a kid. Oh, how times change!
Exactly right. I plan more and go less. Kind of miss getting fresh produce more often, but its just not worth the risk now.
