MARKETING: Do What Needs To Be Done Not What You Want Done

As human beings growing up as children we all have that inner feeling of getting all we want done, this sometimes do not leave us even as adults. We all want “Our Will To Be Done”  I understand but when it comes to your business you don’t want to joke or make expensive experiments with your business. In this sense you have to actually do what’s going to work not what you feel you would want to happen.

Below I want to share with you guys the importance of doing what needs to be done from my own experience as a young entrepreneur in the multimedia industry heading a group of guys:

• Time: Time, this is very important, when lost can never be regained. I used to love to produce the music myself and also run other duties even though I have guys who are well able to do the job well for me I didn’t allow maybe I just wanted to be the star guy, I don’t know but one thing I know is that when I finally started allowing other team members to do the jobs we became really productive and we were able to maximize time because I did what needed to be done not what I would love.

• Profit: When you don’t do what needs to be done, be sure to have a good part of your profit lost. I remember when we started the studio in a small town precisely Sapele,Nigeria. We had started growing great reputation and gaining acceptance in the town but I remember when I decided we should take the studio to a bigger city, which we did but we found out it was not really what would have worked because we had to start all over again the best would have been to grow in the small town and spread our growth to the big city, that way the small town would help us cover some cost for in the city, we have actually corrected our mistake and we doing good now.

• Reputation: It takes a long time to build good reputation but a really short while to destroy your reputation. We living the small town was a big blow to our reputation and what we really stand for. The clients there started seeing us as kind off on serious which is not what you want for your brand.

• Team Work: When you always want what you want done you break the strength of team work. When I started allowing my team members to help me out with crucial jobs we became really better, everything became super. I can never underestimate the importance of great team work and for this to happen you need to allow for what works not what you would love to be done.

This is just a few of the experience I had I want you to know and try to understand the importance of this, this is applicable to anything in life.
