Physician's waiting room ads: Are they effective?

in #marketing4 months ago

The other day I visited the gynecologist with my sister for some routine examination. The doctor quickly examined my sister, while I was waiting for her in the waiting room, and we were ready to go.

I didn’t realize how fast time had passed by as I watched the programs on the TV panel mounted on the wall of the waiting room. I mean, a few decades ago people wouldn’t have imagined having the luxury of watching TV while waiting for a medical appointment; just a big pile of glossy magazines, and that was it!

Not to mention that a large number of patients would be in pain and they wouldn’t take any notice of the presence of a TV set anyway.

However, patients are usually escorted by relatives or friends who may welcome the addition of a TV screen in the waiting room, which could make it easier for them to wait for their beloved persons to be examined by the doctor, while they watch TV programs and shows, and, of course, adverts.

A physician’s waiting room could be just the right place for those adverts to reach a diverse audience of relatives and/or friends of the patients. There are companies that specialize in displaying ads on TV panels placed in waiting rooms, and I reckon that those ads could be very effective in promoting consumer products, services, brands, persons, concepts, ideas, etc.
