Faithfulness in Marriage
Text:prov11:13;Matt25:23;2Thes3:3 ; Rev 2:10.
Faithfulness is the ability to be trusted, relied upon and do whatever you are expected to do. It is consistency. That is, you are unchanging. Your value to your spouse and family do not change with time.
Faithfulness is God's attribute, He keeps to His promises. His yes is yes. Faithfulness is a manifestation of the fruit of the spirit. It is a sign of love, it does not give up. It doesn't look back when there are challenges but keeps going on till the end. It is a virtue that keeps the marriage.
Becoming 'One' in all things demand faithfulness. In sickness, joblessness, poverty, childlessness, prosperity, blessings, etc. Job's wife exhibited unfaithfulness in her marriage. She left her husband when he needed her most. Job2:9-10.
Ruth was faithful to her husband which extended to her mother inlaw after she was bereaved of her husband. Ruth1:8-18.
Faithfulness is the ability to follow God's divine principles guiding relationship. It helps you to put into practice whatever you have learnt to improve on your relationship. It helps you to do God's word and adopt new positive attitude, behavior and sacrifice that will sustain the marriage. It is faithfulness that will make you deny yourself of certain rights to please your spouse.
Faithfulness doesn't disappoint. You can always trust, depend and rely on a faithful person. It pays to be faithful. It is the corner stone of your character. It is a vital part of your personality. It removes suspicion. Your spouse will have no reasons to monitor your movements and activities if you are known to be faithful.
Faithfulness demands that your spouse should be your only sexual partner in life, your companion, friend, confidant and only spouse. No extra marital affairs. No secret deals but open mindedness towards each other.
I declare that your marriage will stand strong in Jesus name. Yield to God's word and the Holy spirit then shall you manifest faithfulness in Jesus name.
