Words of master Jesus: As soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come. Mark 4:29

The doctrine of the Kingdom of God, the empire or government of the divine perfections, taught by Lord Jesus, is not based on rational knowledge, that is why many of Jesus' parables seem difficult or impossible to interpret. In other words, this means that concepts such as moral virtues, for example, justice or prudence, cannot be used to understand the processes that occur at a spiritual level. Entering the Kingdom of God means living according to the Spirit, and in practical terms, this means living the spiritual gifts. It is important to remember in this context that the goal of spirituality is not happiness but to achieve likeness to God in essence: "Be holy, because I am holy" 1 Peter 1:16.
And the divine master wanted to explain this spiritual truth by teaching the Parable of the Growing Seed in the Gospel of Mark. Basically, this parable is a variant of the Parable of the Sower (Mark 4:1-20), and a variant of the Parable of the Wheat and the Tares (Matthew 13:24-30). This story aims to teach the spiritual concept of progressiveness; the Kingdom of God implies growth, development, and the transformation of man towards his nature, and, in a similar way, this is what happens to the seed when the sower throws it into the field.
Basically, the explanation of the Parable, is that God is the sower, and men are the seeds that are sown in the field. Just as a seed transforms into a plant that bears fruit, so men must develop until they bear the fruits of life, living the spiritual gifts. Because the Lord, who is the sower, when the time has come, will ask for his harvest. Men cannot know when the harvest time is because that is decided by the Lord, but they must live prepared like that seed which, transformed into a plant, can be harvested. This can be better understood if we recall the Parable of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-21), who was thinking only of his wealth when God was going to ask for his life the next day. In the context of the parable, it can be said that the rich fool is like that seed that, thrown into the field, for some reason could not develop and bear the expected fruit. And so Jesus ended his parable with these beautiful words, remembering how God decides the last day of men's lives: "As soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come" Mark 4:29.
