McGregor has NO CHANCE Against Mayweather

With the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Conor McGregor bout being set at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in the 26th of August this year, mixed reactions from the people have been buzzing around about the fight. Certain boxing personalities such as Mike Tyson, Lenox Lewis and the Philippines' own Manny Pacquiao have chipped in their thoughts with regards to this fight happening. Despite all the hype surrounding this match, many have expressed their disappointment and frustration due to this ever occurring at all.

Ever since the fight has only been a bunch of rumours, it was clear that whatever conditions were set would always be unfair for the other fighter. It would be outright ridiculous for Floyd to take a UFC Fight against McGregor, which made people think that the boxing ring would fit as a better common ground between the two. This is absolutely not the case because mere punching is totally apart from the overall sport of boxing.

The Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight is an insult to boxing. There is a huge influence by the estimated half-billion USD that can be made in this fight alone. All the trashtalk and rumours have added to the hype and anticipation the fans all over the world have for this clash. Despite the two being the respective titans in their sports, having to compete on one of them is obviously a more one sided affair in favour of the person who fights in that particular sport.

The two fighters will be following boxing rules, which already gives an advantage for Money Mayweather. Compared to Floyd, McGregor is not used to going the distance with 12 three minute rounds. Mayweather, with 49 professional wins out of 49 fights in his track record shows the astounding gap in experience against the young Conor McGregor. The best of Conor McGregor's boxing career is being part of the Crumlin Boxing Club and allegedly being able to hold his own against (unnamed) world champions. They agreed to fight in 10-ounce boxing gloves. This is just two ounces heavier than the standard Welterweight boxing glove but more than double the four ounce gloves that are used in UFC. The weight differences of the respective gloves will affect McGregor's speed more than Mayweather's. I predict that Mayweather would be wearing Grant gloves for comfort and protection of his hands whereas McGregor will go for the Cleto Reyes for its reputation as a puncher's glove.

Despite the technical disadvantages on the side of Conor McGregor, the real pressure lies on Floyd Mayweather Jr. In my opinion, Floyd needs to take this fight more aggressively and beat McGregor in a convincing manner. This could serve as a statement that transferring sports is no walk in the park no matter how ferocious or athletic another person might seem to be. Can the Notorious Conor McGregor defeat one of the greatest boxers in Floyd Money Mayweather? In all honesty, I would give Conor a puncher's chance of a mere 1% of taking out the defensive expert.

As I see it, McGregor will be irritated and impatience in Mayweather's defensive abilities and loosen up as the fight goes the distance. This leaves an opening for Floyd's extremely clever offense and counter punching, which could lead into a devastating knockout against Conor McGregor at around the 7th to 10th round.

At the end of the day, all the fans want is a good fight between the two and that the outcome would clear everyone's doubts so that they may truly get what they paid for.

If you're predicting they go 7 to 8 rounds how does that pair with "having no chance" against mayweather?
I agree mayweather has the advantage but McGregor being younger may prove to be an advantage.
We'll see.

Good point on McGregor being younger. I predicted it to go later in the fight because of the more patient fighting style of Floyd. We do know he is not an aggressive fighter, but he is very tactical. I feel like with his ability he could wear out his opponent and eventually take him out during those later rounds of the bout. Thanks for the insight I hope I made it a bit clearer for you.

I would also like to point out that I do not mean to point out any hate on any of the two. Both of them are undoubtedly huge successes in their fields making it the reason why it would be unfair to settle their differences in one particular type of competition over another.

Last Mayweather KO was 6 years ago!!! Last McGregor KO was when? Yesterday? Mayweather is done!
