Media half truths
One of the most telling patterns to be found in mainstream media is that of using uncertain terms to paint a clear picture that they hope will go over the heads of the viewer. The majority of the time they are successful. Imagine hearing the terms 'highly likely' or 'experts believe' . Through these terms it is clear that no evidence has been found on whatever assertions are being made, but these terms are used non the less. This is all fun and games until you realise that our politicians and 'leaders' of state use these same terms when trying to justify a lack luster desire for war; and wars have real consequences beyond the immediate such as death toll ; geopolitical seismic shifts are created by politicians with loose tongues and careless verbage. It is up to us to not only speak up about the false truths the media portray, but to make sure that we teach our children and the upcoming generation the importance of critical thinking imbue into them the skill of deconstructing these lies.
