To no one’s surprise, Peter Marks, the former FDA director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, was hired by Eli Lilly as the head of infectious disease and molecule discovery becoming yet another regulator going through the revolving door between government and industry. However, the real corruption isn’t when they first leave government for industry but when they boomerang back to government with the next admin with new industry acquaintances, like Robert Califf did between the Obama and Biden admin.
