It's not religion itself, it's the fanaticism and extremism that is damaging religion and in turn becoming evil for humanity..
Hitler, for example, killed 6million Jews on basis of religious fanaticism..blaming them for crucifying Jesus..
Communism however killed as many people, for having a religion..
