RE: A Ramble~Depression

in #mentalhealth6 years ago (edited)

It is so critical that you do things for YOU and not for others, because if you don't, then you end up exactly where you are right now. I say this because I know from my own personal experience and it is a terrible head space to be in. I have had times when this became so chronic that pretty much anything and everything became overwhelming and I had absolutely no desire to do ANY of it. I just wanted it to all disappear.

I decided to start walking again.

Within two days of kicking my mornings off with a 5km walk I felt like a completely different person - positively so.

As I sit here now, writing this to you, I have not walked since Thursday as I had stuff to take care of early on Friday and I normally give my body a break on the weekends... so it has been three days, and you know what... I can feel that negativity and desire to escape creeping in again - so I am very much looking forward to getting back on track tomorrow morning.

I a not suggesting that you walk (specifically) but a change in your routine - a positive addition or the removal of something possibly negative might just help you to shift gears and get back onto a more positive track
