Looking for some help/advice about Metamask.
Can I give people my Metamask address to receive ERC20 tokens/coins from them or do I have to only provide a MyEtherWallt address ??

Either is possible, you can also import the private key of meta into mew and Visa versa.
so if i have given only my metamask address to a friend, I can receive the tokens he will send right?
Yes, you can see them there. Your tokens are bound to your ether adres (and therefore your private key). Even if your wallet does not support your tokens you do still own your tokens. And myetherwallet will allow you to send any token.
