Raigad was the capital of the Marathas under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj .

The Raigad Fort was built by Raje Chandraraoji More of Jawli, Maharashtra and the chief architect/engineer was Hiroji Indulkar

Raigad is a hill fort situated in the Mahad, Raigad district of Maharashtra, India.

Shivaji maharaj was crowned king of the Marathas in a lavish ceremony at Raigad on 6 June 1674.
