Learn a trade. It's not the worst thing in the world, and it pays well enough you can relax if you have some down time. Being a cash jockey slinging dope? Fuck it. Time to build toward a future. You can do it. If you want to be a serious writer, and you are good enough, then submit to all the magazines and rags you can. Want to be an artist? Study it, perfect your style, hold shows. But I went the hard easy way, I work my ass of for my relaxation. Hvac would be a good route, or get your husband to take you on as his apprentice.(kidding, carpentry can be quite extolling, on the body and soul)
Wrote a post to figure out how to do that. Go by the book. I only self published, and vanity press is the most depressing thing in the world, I did it more for my own challenge than anything. Most of the books I gave away as presents. Short stories, especially provocative lady porn may have a huge audience. Try @wcpublishing if they can connect you to campfire magazine. Think your story would fit in very well there. For horror stories look up rue morgue in Toronto, not sure if they are still running, but if they are, there great horror genre buffs.

What magazines and rags do you think I should start with? Got any links to publishers to submit to? Where did you submit starting out?
