Welcome! Some interesting interests you have there! (I apologise for the unimaginative adjective.)

Mr Bit Brain is partial to a little Metal Detecting, accumulating General Knowledge, learning History from a war perspective, has a life-long passion for all things Space and has been an avid (and rather skilled) Video Gamer even since he could reach the controls of "Pac Man" in the old video arcades.

Looking forward to seeing what you write.

Nice, you might enjoy this old article of mine. https://steemit.com/freedom/@getonthetrain/how-video-games-showed-me-what-really-matters-in-life

(I might have to update this a bit and publish it again, let me know if I should)

Damn man, you write really well! I thoroughly enjoyed that article, I was reminiscing with a smile on my face.

I've spent approximately four decades doing orbits of the sun so I know exactly what you are talking about. I played those same games and I also used a tiny black and white TV! I remember my delight when I became a teenager and was given the TV when we finally got a decent colour one for the house. That old B&W (with the analogue dials) used to distort terribly as it heated up and I would have a big curved line running slowly up my screen. But I still loved the games!

The graphics are not the number one element in games, sure they help, but other things are far more important. Some games are designed to be visually stunning. I remember titles such as Myst or Dreamfall or some of the space epics like Freelancer or the X series. But these days everything is beautiful. I remember playing Grim Fandango (the original) - its graphics purposefully blocky, and loving it, because the story was so good. Older games were more about good gameplay, but the modern stars are those who nail the story. I played The Witcher 3 through twice last year and was delighted with it. Sure the graphics rock, but the story is what made it. My favourite game(s) of all time is the Mass Effect Trilogy (I don't count the fourth game). I consider it to be the beat story ever told, in any medium, ever! I really hope you've played it.

By the way, GREAT choice in cars. I happen to be a car nut too. Just one more of my many interests!

To answer your question, I'm not sure how much of an update the post needs, it looks good as is, but absolutely yeah, republish it. Too much good stuff sits forgotten in old Steem archives. Maybe use new tags to reach new readers?

Thanks, I also thought this article came out extremely well too.

Absolutely, copy and paste that sucker into a new post!

Thanks! Glad to be here. 😀
