Hi Steemit peeps,
I’d rather get straight to the point – I ain’t here to introduce myself, neither to tell you what I am doing. I am here to make money. Question is how?
I have read lots of introductory posts, articles, etc. Can someone explain to me why there are such introductory posts? Why do people write about themselves? About what they do, where they live, why do they live there, who do they live with…oh jeez, the list t go on with hobbies and favorite travel destinations, favorite food, colours… Who cares?
You believe you will make money out of introducing yourself? God, if that was the case, I would have written a book about that. I actually got a theory about these type of posts (not that you care). Maybe them people reveal (not so truthful in my opinion) information about themselves so they gain trust. Trust, that might result in people reading and upvoting their posts. Super reliable strategy. Every reporter on mass media starts off by introducing themselves.
To add, I have also observed lots of ‘cheating’ on the platform. It is quite sad to make your friends create an account and upvote you. It feels like this is Facebook part 2, but making less money out of it. Do not try to correct me, it is my opinion.
Anyway, I do not want to sound like a hater (even though to many of you I would), let me get to the point. How do you make money on Steemit? Obviously by having your post upvoted, by commenting and active participation. Right, this is clear. What is unclear to me is what adds value to a post? What do people want to know about? There are millions of discussions and articles about tons of different topics. Information is out there when you need it. We have everything, whenever we want it. We even know that we are ‘stalked’ non stop by organisations. Some of you probably know what did Kim Kardashian have for dinner yesterday.
I will leave this post with an open end, inviting you to share your opinion or even hate.
Have a good one y’all 😊

'with hobbies and favorite travel destinations, favorite food, colours… Who cares?'

You need too connect with people, the reason for this is to show potential common interests. You don't have to reveal who you are, or where you are from, that's your decision. You also wont make significant amounts of money here either.

If you post regularly on Facebook, then don't bother and do the same on here. Just put more juice into your content, have patience and keep on doing the same. It takes time to build a following.

I have been here just ONE month and am making progress, it all depends what you are willing to put back into it. Have a look at some of my articles if you want to get a feel of what you need to do to be seen.

Thnx @slobberchops for reading my post and expressing your opinion, what made you read my post tho?

It was resteemed by someone I follow, it looked a little different and showed strong opinions. You really should give this a try but don't expect too much, there's more to be gained than money.

Welcome to steemit!
I am a bot built for the purposes of welcoming new users! You are receiving this message as you have used the #introduceyourself tag! I know that steemit may seem very overwhelming to you right now but don't worry. There's a learning curve to everything so just be patient and you'll be churning out posts and becoming a part of something great in no time!

Also if there are any questions that you may have, then just ask your questions on any of my blog posts and I'll be more than happy to assist you with whatever questions you may have! I will also be creating a basic starting out guide for all minnows and newcomers on my blog so do give it a read as that might help answer many of your questions!

Have fun and I wish you LOADS of success on here! :)

Also. you can call upon originalworks whenever something you post is your own content like this: @originalworks

Sorry but i think, you 're not made for Steem. I'm also interested for money. BUT i see... the community is much more important. So i would love to see more informations about YOU as a person. But with such a text, i can't give a thumb up! Maybe you will change your mind. Otherwise you will not have a bright future on Steem. Anyway. Feel you welcomed! But you have still a lot to learn if you really want to make money on Steem.

Thanks for your opinion @hj-wuethrich In a direct response - thank God I wasn't made for steemit.

Why wouldn't you want to vote up? This person has some strong opinions and a voice. We need people like this on Steemit. I have to hand it to him/her, its a different approach than the usual, don't you think?

No sorry i don't think so! But if you want to give him a thumb up, feel free! Thank you for your feedback. Have a nice day.

hehehe... I wholeheartedly disagree!

This was one of the most engaging introduction posts I've seen around here in a while.

Completely unpretentious and with some witty humor... I for one want to see more steemians like him, who don't try to sell their "ME" as a likeable person but rather just say where their motives and ideas are coming from without painting them in rainbows and glitter!

You spam "nice post" on posts😉

Or create good posts, buy a vote on steembottracker to get some visibility and hope you get discovered by other steemers

thanks for the idea @jumowa :)

Heh... honestly... this has to be one of the best intros I've seen around here in a while... So as far as I am concerned... you aced it!

Now, just to be clear... I have myself NEVER written a proper introduction at all either... I think that works just fine as long as you do something that someone finds interesting.

I take pictures and host a #GooglyEyes contest - works for me.

But, making money isn't really on my agenda, that's just a welcome sideffect.

Now... since you are focused on the money, here's where you went wrong: 100% power up.

Due to the way the rewards work and how SBD is hypothetically calculated as 1USD worth of steem in all internal conversions, you are actually losing money with 100% power up vs 50/50 at the moment.

I know that's a bit confusing... I wrote a comment with an exemplary calculation illustrating the issue a while back, you can find it here if you want to look into that.

I've also written a post about how those rewards break down and how the 1USD-STEEM-SBD conversion messes with the system.

allrighty... enough self-promotion... I'm curious what you'll do around here.

Cheers and welcome to STEEM!
