What if I hit the jackpot and get rich?

in #money8 years ago (edited)

I often wonder what would happen if I would get rich. Would it really change my life? Would it really make things better? Would I really not have to worry anymore?

I think it would change my life because of the simple fact that I never had big loads of money to spend but if it would make things better I am not sure. It sure would make life more easy because you no longer need to worry at the end of the month. So today I really wondered what would happen if I hit the jackpot and because of that I started to google and came across this method of investment: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rich

 Method 1 Investing

  1. Put money in the stock market. ...
  2. Save money for retirement. ...
  3. Invest in real estate. ...
  4. Invest your time. ...
  5. Avoid purchases that are likely to depreciate rapidly. ...
  6. Don't spend money on stupid stuff. ...
  7. Stay rich.

So, now I will go into those tips and why they will never work for me.

Put money in the stock market. ...
I would love to be able to put money into the stock market BUT... With my luck I will put all of it on the wrong thing and end op broke before I can write cheese and bake myself a cake.

Save money for retirement. ...
Saving is something that is really smart! My parents always told me to make sure to have some extra spending money for when hard times hit. BUT... Retirement is far far into the future and somehow my evil little brain thinks it's much more important to buy none saying things like lollipops in all kind of flavors, pencils ( I have a ton) markers and paper to draw on, books, chocolate and cookies. I mean I can't survive without cookies.

Invest in real estate. ...
You see, I really have a weird taste when it comes to real estate. I would end up buying a cabin in the woods and that would be it. Silence and no weird people around me anymore. Why would I not buy other property? If I don't want to live in it I would not buy it. Yes, I am stubborn and I starting to see a pattern here...

Invest your time. ...
Time is the most precious thing we humans have and they say when you don't do anything you can better invest that time to get rich and or work very hard to get there. I am not a lazy person and I love to do things just not work hard to get rich. I love to create things with my hands like art, drawing and or build small items of wood. Trust me, I tried a few times to start a web shop to sell my things but it just never lifted. ( Maybe it was the wrong time) I also like to write and truth is when you write and or work to create a book most of the hours you have a day go into writing. Before you know it a day has past and you only wrote 500 words. I am sure not against hard work but again, I am stubborn and because of the the fact that I have a disability I can't work full time anyways.

Avoid purchases that are likely to depreciate rapidly. ...
I don't need a car because I don't drive, I don't need a new house because the one I am living in now is perfect! So those things are off the list. But truth is I will so purchase things that will not keep any value like shoes! yes shoes! We women like shoes and one can never have too shoes. Clothes, oh yes, we also need like 6 closets full of clothes we never wear. Books, I need all the books in the world so that I can hide in my special hiding room so no one can see me while I read, wear my new $3000 dollar dress and my new $2500 freaking sexy high heels. Ok, I have to be honest here. I am not that good in walking on high heals. There have been many occasions I should have broken my neck walking on those killer heels. I walk like a pregnant elephant on them, on that is high on LSD I might add.

Don't spend money on stupid stuff. ...
(( Blinks)) Wait a minute..... I will just point at number 5....
Oh come one, let me buy my stupid stuff because I really really need them!

Stay rich.
Yeah, I am seriously going to try and stay rich but I will fail! Why you ask? Well first of all look at all the above and second I would probably spend most of my money making other people happy. You see, I really do not care much for money. I live a simple life and I love doing it. I would be at my happiest if I could have a small piece of land, like a cabin near the woods where I can grow my own garden and eat from that, have a few animals like a cow for milk and a pig for meat and a few chickens for eggs. Okay, yes I will also slaughter my chickens because I love chicken meat!

Luckily I will never hit the jackpot because for that I need to buy a lottery ticket or go to a casino to gamble and I don't do things like that. I also wont get rich because of a very rich uncle or aunt or grand parents because I don't have them.

Does knowing that I will never get rich makes me sad?
Not one bit because I already am rich. I have a full life with amazing friends and family, a few cute pets and hobbies I really love. But who knows, maybe one day when I have a fever I might buy a ticket and waste a good amount of money to nothing and giving it away to make others happy. After all, all I need are a few markers and white paper to draw on. I am blessed but I will never stop dreaming! Love and laughter mean more to me than money but it's a fact that we all need it to be able to live a good life!

Never say never Bianca :)

I never say never but I think I will be struck by lightning than by the winning ticket :D

I think the same for my whole life until I realised I sabotage myself on and on because its always been a struggle . I think I start mining hahaha

I kinda think I am rather good at sabotaging myself for some weird reason. But, Oh well, I am happy the way things turn out most the time. Lmao.

I just wrote about it an hour ago . Check it out if you feel like . You might like it . I sabotaged as my hobby but after writing a fuck it bucket list I felt better

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
