Steemit's Scalability Problem

in #money9 years ago

What I'm talking about here is, the only way to access steemit will be through

  1. Internet, so at most 1 billion people
  2. Have to be somewhat knowledgeable with crypto-currencies and underlying technology.
  3. A lot of people would rather just stick with Main Stream Media to get news.

What I'm getting at here is, parents, grandparents, most friends, and cousins have no clue what crypto-currency is, what bitcoin is, and when I try to explain to them what the benefits could be, with being able to cut out the middle-man to make a trade or convert to a different currency( AKA a central bank), micro transactions, they frankly could care less.

I mean, I'm almost certain everyone here is not a big fan of central banks. Are more open to Transparency rather than secrecy, and more open to keeping not only other people but governments honest. It appears this idea(steemit) is set up too a small niche of people (under 45-50, males, people interested in decentralization of money and power). I don't know exactly of a way to help people understand this idea, and get them to change there mindset if you will about fiat money in general, to get this idea to a more broader set of individuals. Let me know what you think below!
