I would add the following:

• If you are going up against a cartel, choose one that isn't heavily armed.
• Check that your brother-in-law isn't ideologically opposed to everything you do, and will stop at nothing to expose your wrongdoing.
• If a pizza is thrown onto your roof, remove it immediately, as metaphors can quickly spiral out of control.
• If your business partners get in your way, just kill them.
