Another war and economic collapse will never happen? Wars and economic collapse have happened before and @DollarVigilante is presenting reason and evidence that another war and economic collapse may happen again. To say so absolutely that it can't ever happen is ludicrous and wishful thinking. It's not about living in fear, it's about recognizing and accepting possibilities and preparing yourself accordingly i.e. emergency preparedness. Even though majority of people may not want war, those in power (governments), because they have been and continue to be funded via theft (taxation), have and will use whatever means (killing, stealing, lying, censoring, etc) necessary to attempt to maintain their power and control.
