The house and building when looked upon with the bare trees all around them provides a melancholic effect. Or probably it's just because they are presented in monochrome. But both the house and the building stood proud despite the old age and maybe despite also the creaking walls and leaking roofs.
Yes, of course, monochrome makes this image so emotional and a bit sad. It was planned :)
