Silhouettes at sunset
High on the cliff... where the Uluwatu temple stands
Half hidden by trees and shrubs
Only the multi-tiered rooftops show up dark against the sky
Down down below
The seas swirl...
Sunset bides its time
Sun hiding amongst the clouds
And only its shimmer reflected upon the water
Bears witness to its presence
The view is magnificent!
Facing the sun, everything else is in darkness
Producing interesting silhouettes against sky and sea

Thank you, @pixresteemer! :)
Niiiiice... and i wont mention surfing at all ; )
Hahaha.... Thank you!
And nooo, no surfing there... there are terrible rocks close to shore - not a surfing place at all... :)
Are you teasing me? ; )
Here's an article about surfing Bali in the 70's that's got some great old photos!
https://briantissot.com/2015/04/22/surfing-bali-in-the-1970s/
Uluwatu July 25th 2018. I would like to have seen this!
Wow! That was a treat... that article with the accompanying photos and videos, and that video from last year! Thank you!! :) Loved the accompanying guitar riffs... :)
I can imagine how it was then, but I do also see how great popular places will change and develop, especially when it gets more and more popular! Having experienced the worst of Bali's current traffic jams and crowds, I am still charmed and will still return... :) There's just something about Bali... There's still so much going for it! Maybe its the people, as well as the place itself. It may have lost that innocence and romanticism of the 70s, but I really don't blame them.
But I can't imagine how those guys surfed at Uluwatu... lol. Maybe the next bay or cove - I didn't spot anyone just below the temple cliffs... The old 1978 video caught the cut of the land that I still recognise, but now with over grown trees and definitely more green. Where the guys were looking down is almost exactly what I saw in this post, except there's now proper walk paths along the cliff top. Ohh, and the monkeys are still there, probably more daring and cheeky than before too! :D
I'm amazed at how dangerous it was then and how many people surf it now! The stories of them paddling out from the cave with waves breaking right up on the cliff. Now people are all over out there like it's easy! I think it must have been really nice when it was inexpensive to stay places. Maybe a little spartan but not so bad with inexpensive food and shelter :)
I really can't imagine paddling out of a sea cave and into rough waters, right at the base of cliffs with sharp treacherous rocks waiting to slice you.... just to surf! Lol... There are still many inexpensive pretty places to stay at and food to try, if you know where to find them... :)
something so calming and relaxing about this I love it
Awwww... Thank you, JJ! I guess not many appreciate stuff like this...
Never mind, if it calms and relaxes you, good enough! :)
