Is MOOC really want to help people?

Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) really want to help people by free or paid courses or this is only the approach to create its Market place....
May be MOOC consider both the option to explore its Market place and to help student by giving online lectures and certification. Recently i done a Python course on "Coursera" but it has 6 courses include for whole specialization in python and each course price is 99$ and i done only one course. That's why i think its an approach to gain revenue by taking side of MOOC. Basically their motive is to give free online course but they did give the chance to people who belong to lower level and facing some financial issues..

Whats your opinion on this???
