On Wednesday, January 31, in case of clear weather, residents and guests of Russia will be able to observe the super moon in the sky, which will coincide with a total eclipse of the Moon.

It is expected that on Tuesday, January 30, the satellite will approach the Earth by 358,994 kilometers. Full moon and a full lunar eclipse will occur on January 31 from 14:28 to 18:11 Moscow time. This is reported by astronomers of the Moscow Planetarium.

This phenomenon will be unique in that during the eclipse the Moon will be near the perigee point. The supernoon will enter the earth's shadow. The apparent diameter of the satellite will increase by about 8%.

Note that the Earth's satellite will plunge into the southern part of the shadow of our planet. The shadow of the Earth will eclipse the visible surface of the Moon. As a result, the satellite will become reddish brown.

It is predicted that a complete eclipse of the Moon will be observed almost throughout Russia. However, this phenomenon can not be seen in the western and south-western regions of the country. In Moscow, the crimson moon appears in the sky after 17:00.

In addition, the super moon and lunar eclipse can be observed in Eastern Europe, East Africa, Asia, Australia, and North America.
Good luck
