The Subjectivity Of Morality

in #morality6 years ago

There's no hard and fast standard for "morality"; it is a subjective terminology that depends on ones cultural values, religious beliefs and indoctrination.
Morality is like a point that can be viewed from 360 different angles; what you see depends not just on the angle from which you are viewing but also the "perspective".

Practical Example
A lady wearing "hot mini" is regarded as "immoral" by another wearing a below-knee skirt, who is in turn regarded as wayward by a religious extremist who wears ankle-level skirts. Now the whole lot are "learners" on the moral scale of a Muslim and her hijab.
Question is who amongst all of them is right?
Morality is an ass! The sooner humanity realises this and stops judging people's action based on their own definition of, and standards for morality, the better.
Understanding the concept of RELATIVISM, as regards morality, brews tolerance and thus fosters world peace.
May the light of reason unshackle us from the slavery of bigotary & fanatism in the dungeons of morality
