Every time it rains we are always busy looking for the best solution.
Hello guys. Back again with me ekasriwahyunie. I hope everything is fine with you, guys.
Hi guys, my friends and I at work wanted to move our beds today. The smell on the ground floor is getting worse by the day. We planned to move our beds to the second floor next to our work area. However, it was very difficult because our office doesn't have an elevator. It was very difficult to move our suitcases to the second floor using the legs.
We also had a complete shutdown yesterday at our accommodation at work because the electricity was completely off, and our cell phones were also dead. Today, the electricity came back on around 8:00 PM WIB. We immediately charged our batteries; in case the power went out, we had a small amount of battery left on our phones.
We were on the floor, struggling to find a solution. There was no way we could lift the heavy bed, let alone climb the stairs. We women are very weak, and we were especially tired from constantly cleaning the bottom room to prevent it from smelling. At this conclusion, we finally decided to stay on the ground floor, even though the smell would have to persist for a while. Moving things upstairs wasn't easy.
A few hours later, we were very busy and didn't spend much time on our phones in this office accommodation. We were conserving our phone batteries so we could use the flashlight later that night if the lights went out. My colleagues and I decided to clean the room again to prevent the smell from lingering in our sleeping area.
We were quite tired and spent quite a bit of time cleaning the basement, as it was very prone to water ingress when it rained. Previously, it never rained here, but during the flood that hit Jambi, Indonesia, even the slightest drop of rain would cause water to enter. The river near our office had collapsed, causing the water to quickly overflow into our office.
At night, as I expected, the electricity would come on for a few hours. As I mentioned earlier, every time the power came on, we would rush to charge our phones and enjoy breakfast with our friends at the office. Today, we've been staying at the office for almost a month because our rented house is no longer habitable due to the flood. We've been forced to stay here for months.
We've had a hard time finding food here, but today we were forced to take what we'd stored. Our food supplies, like instant noodles and fried crackers, are running low. Hopefully, we'll be able to find food again tomorrow, as all supermarkets in our area are closed. That's why it's so difficult to find food.
