McGregors Theory of X and Y is simplified below.
His assumptions were divided into two theory:
Theory X and Theory Y.
The assumptions of thoery X are:
Most employes dislike work and will avoid it as much
Manager need to threaten,punish and use force to get the job done
Most people need to be directed,avoid responsibility and have low ambition
Employe are motivated by fear and money
And assumptions of theory Y are:
Employes like to work
People enjoy working toward goal
Commitment to goals increases by giving rewards
Most employee seek responsibility
These are the approaches that managers take. Theory Y should be taken in practise in order to influence employee and have ownership as a manager. This can be applied in any work.
